Does this look like anybody who is bothered about riding in the luxury gas guzzler, with a couple more Suburbans along, with a police escort too, of course - in a motorcade of admin assistants to smooth out his scheduled appearances?
Keep in mind, Newsom has been riding about in taxpayer funded luxury for well over a decade
He was the lieutenant governor of California from 2011 to 2019 and as the mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011.
He's related to Nancy Pelosi
Lest we be too rush to judgement, the more recent of his suvs might be hybrid after all.
Though, that causes me to wonder how many times he has been driven about in an SUV that exceeds the weight limit of the street or bridges on his way from photo op to press conference
By weighing in at more than 6,000 pounds, big SUVs are prohibited on thousands of miles of road in California. Cities across the state—including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Santa Monica—use the 3-ton cutoff for many or nearly all of their residential streets.
Here’s just a sampling: The Chevy Suburban and Tahoe, the GMC Yukon, and the Lincoln Navigator, all have a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 6,000 pounds per the manufacturer’s specs for these vehicles.
This allows these motorcade vehicles to ignore the smog laws place on vehicles 6000 pounds and under
As for being a hypocrite, it's more than just on the issue of vehicles, in 2007, it came to light that Newsom had an affair with the wife of his campaign manager and best friend.
Being a politician you must advocate for law abiding, right? But who cheats on his wife, with his best friend's wife?
That's just slimy, like most politicians.
Honestly, don't really care. I do care about people being able to breathe. Our smog is at record levels again and somebody needs to do something. 2035 isn't soon enough.
ReplyDeleteWow, finally someone who has a different line of thought on this... HI!
DeleteSo, can I ask you some questions to get to hear about your notions about this topic of zero emissions cars?
Do you think the Governor should or shouldn't take this stand, when only the person who will become governor in 2035 has to deal with the consequences?
Should Gov Newsome have to only drive or ride in zero emissions vehicles to demonstrate he can deal with the ramifications of his decision he has tried to create where in ALL the other people in the state must abide by?
Can 30 million people in the future only 15 years away have an electric vehicle, when half of those people can't afford the charging station?
What about the people who can't afford to buy a zero emissions vehicle, nor a home with a charging station?
Is this possibly a way to boost the Tesla company, whom Gov Newsome is a friend of the CEO, Elon Musk, as a kickback for future earnings?
What does this do for the state of California? It currently unable to power ONLY the homes and washing machines, air conditioners, blow dryers, and flatscreens that currently exist.
Thank you for choosing to comment, even if you don't reply to my questions, as it's fantastic to hear from someone who feels differently.
Seriously, it's awesome to find that you took the time to let me know you're more in favor of clean air, than most people.
What do you and your family drive? high mpg hybrids? Electric cars?
Thanks again,
Jesse
