cool things with wheels, since 2006
The Ford XC Cobra what a great car, and an excellent way to move body shells, put some race stripes on and a snale emblem and done. I came that close to buying one, now i kick myself as they are worth good money. Here is a point it is a blue car with white stripes....
Blue car with white stripes huh?
That's what they say, the body shells were all blue
Perhaps its more accurate to say Blue with bodies of White. The Cobra's were all painted Bold Blue first (colour code L1127A) with bodies of White (Snow White) added afterwards to create the GT stripes. The Blue Stripes were bordered by Olympic blue edging. The XC Cobra was Edsel II's method of running out the last coupe bodies. Available since '72, by '78 it was like a fire sale. In 1977 only 900 were sold and 500 sat needing a new home. 400 were chosen to be Cobra's. Only 30 had the full package of the last of the race parts and body mods. The other 370 were a 302 street version. Ed's insistance for a duplicate of the 1977 Mustang Cobra II did not sell well. The collection of 'Improvements' were left overs from better times. The 'Larger wheel openings' were 1976 Landau wheel tubs. The Landau was a luxury Coupe based on the LTD, they built 1300 over three years. 351, FMX and 9", they had four bucket seats and all the regalia of the LTD. It had the largest wheel tubs available on a production car at the time and many race cars ran Landau body shells with Falcon front panels for this reason.
holy moly, you know these inside and out!
Its just what you grow up with.
