Made of stamped panel off cuts, production line paint and with an Austin VIN number inside the trunk. Were these little J40's the only true 'Factory' built pedal cars?
You guys are the best! Thanks for adding this. My love for these goes back to when they were new and I was around four. My little friend down the street took me for a spin in his. (We were small enough that we both crammed into it.) Black with red interior. We foolishly parked it "at the curb" behind another real car and I still remember sitting in it thinking how cool it was and that everyone would think we were pretty awesome to be tooling around in our convertible. It was completely lost on us how small we were and that we didn't look anywhere near grown up . . . until the lady taking care of me came running out, oh the house raising absolute hell about us driving in the street, and hauled me off!
did it just for you! I couldn't recall who had been so excited, and now I know, hit that link for the full story and more images, and the history of them
