I don't give an FE engine any respect. Boat motors. I also don't fall into the catagory of doing what's expected. I did 406 day, because, who the hell recalls the 406? No one. But say Thunderbolt, and you have the attention of the room... because you aren't screwing around, you're talking real race car from the factory in the pure bliss of super stockers... so 406 day was celebrated. I skipped 413 day, as that is too expected, and I did not jump on the hemi bandwagon, I went 426 wedge, Stage I, Stage II and Stage III because - damn it - ain't too many people recall that the 426 wedge was a monster, and could be bought in 3 levels of kick ass... plus, the truck Sport Custom was a rarity and a racer. So, there I was trying for unexpected, again. 421 day, for the unexpected, and 425 day? Hell, you tell a room full of car guys that you have a muscle car buick to give away, and there will be full respect. There weren't many muscle Buicks, compared to Dodge, Chevy, or Ford... but they were genuine monsters, and effing respect was earned by them. And seriously, a 425 dual quad? Damn it! Factory hot rod parts! 427 day for the variety of Ford and Chevy both having a monster with the same fender tag number, though I forgot to put up a photo of a Chevy tri power 427. Today I will have a 429 Boss, but, I just got up and haven't had my coffee yet. I'm on the west coast, and you east coasters have had hours to get the jump start on moving the day along

I don't give an FE engine any respect, so there was no Happy 428 Day. Boat motors.
I also don't fall into the category of doing what's expected.
I surprised myself with a 327 day... because I suddenly realized I missed all the 300 days, 302, 304, 305, 318, and then I woke up

I figure I'm probably the only one to do a Happy 406, 421 and 425 day. Everyone jumped on the bandwagon to do a 426, 427 and 429 day. I was not a bandwagon jumper, I was a leader instead.
By George, I did a Happy 414 day! Just A Car Guy : happy 414 day! Lincoln V12 from 1936 (head held high, eagles do a flyby, flags unfurl, orphans get adopted, and vets uncover their heads)
typical....
ReplyDeleteso, no 428 day?
