1914 kids were made of tough pioneer stuff... these scouts hiked from Minnesota to San Francisco


Their goal was to visit the Panama Pacific International Exposition.

Fred Marcellus who, after the trip was completed, stayed with family in Exeter, California. He ended up becoming the wood shop teacher at Hanford High School. During the trip, he took about 158 photos, and the box of negatives was sold at a yard sale, and were just realized to be this trip by a fan of the Facebook page I link to.
