I photographed it a the 2016 LaJolla Concours: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2016/04/maserati-gran-sport-body-by-frua.html
and last month it went to a Vancouver restorer to be taken apart, down to the frame, and restored
It was sold at Retromobile 2014, and the owner seems to say that it's paint condition has been rapidly degrading since arriving in San Diego8 or 9 years ago.
I saw a headline somewhere that some purists are complaining that this car will be restored, instead of keeping it as a survivor. Apparently, the owner says it's not as original as it appears.
ReplyDeleteyes, and since it's not a Maserati body, it's a Frua body, it's already not "stock" it's coachbuilt custom, and maybe it's not easy to see what was coachbuilt and what is collision repair, perhaps.
DeleteI thought he had a great retort though... go buy your own and do what you want with it (paraphrased)
