Sure would have been sweet to see this $200,000 64 Comet with a 1300 hp big ol Merlin motor at SEMA, but, it wasn't built with brakes that could stop it, when the accelerator stuck at 2200 rpm, and the driver had been riding the brakes to compensate. A PSA from Jim! Thank you Jim!

and when driving down the street, there was nothing to do but panic when the brakes couldn't slow it down. So they crashed into an SUV

Thank you Jim!

  3. Exactly what Don said. Also I don't believe the passenger really is a knowledgeable car guy. Reminds me of the current "writers" for the few printed car magazines left. Contract writers at low pay with no real hands on experience. Just look at the magazine rack and see how many thin ass car magazines are left and the quality of the articles. Really hate the digital magazine as I hate the thought of having a laptop in the crapper. Old age will do that to you!

  5. Had to forward this link to my brother who has a black 64 Caliente he's been working on for over fifteen years. The body is damn near pristine (no fiberglass) He tubbed it out and someone broke into his garage and stole his narrowed rear end which cost almost $3500 fifteen years ago. Bastards! I hate a thief. Oh, and on the driver...yeah, I think he could have done a lot better job on avoiding at least some of the contact he incurred
