this is the first I've heard of the Shuttleworth air show... and since I like listening to old engines, and looking at old airplanes... these videos are a treat, for all of us that can't afford to travel and attend these shows. The internet is cool like that

The Shuttleworth Collection is both an Aviation and Automotive museum located at the Old Warden Airfield, Bedfordshire, England. It is well known for it`s variety of old and well preserved aircraft.

  1. Love it! About 60 miles north of me and on the east side of The Hudson River is Rhinebeck, NY and the Rhinebeck Aerodrome where on weekends in good weather in warm months these old planes are flown. Fascinating visit with four hangars filled with old craft.

  2. An amazing collection; cars, bikes, traction engines etc. as well as aircraft. They have a 1909 Bleriot XI which is claimed to be the world's oldest aircraft/engine combination still flying. Like their 1910 Deperdussin it does straight hops along the runway on calm summer evenings.
Other aircraft, like their stunningly beautiful Hawker biplane fighter bombers, get a much more spirited workout, all on a friendly grass airfield where the spectator fence is about 5 feet from the parked exhibits.
