Tara Brown's 65 Shelby AC Cobra, COB6107

1960s fashion entrepreneur, Australian-born John Crittle cut his teeth in psychedelic ‘60s tailoring working at Hung On You in Chelsea.

The shop sold the throwback classic outfits with elaborate collars and cuffed shirts, tailored, high-collar double-breasted suits, and flowery shirts and ties to The Who, Bowie, the Stones, and Hendrix

Expanding with the backing of 21-year-old Guinness heir Tara Browne, Crittle opened his own shop, Dandie Fashions in late 1966

Tara Browne commissioned the art student trio of Douglas Binder, Dudley Edwards and David Vaughn (the trio known as BEV) to paint the storefront of Dandie, and her Shelby AC Cobra in a similar fashion

the woman in the painting, on the right side of the building, appears very similar to a Mucha painting

Young Maggie Smith (she's a favorite of mine. I'll watch any movie with her in it) and Bob Newhart in a 1968 movie "Hot Millions"

BEV also produced original light shows, including ‘The Million Volt Light and Sound Rave’ 1967 at The Roundhouse, London, featuring the only known public presentation of the ‘Carnival Of Light’ sound collage created by Paul McCartney and John Lennon during recording sessions for their Sgt Pepper album.

Robert Fraser’s gallery at 69 Duke Street, Mayfair (see the white sign at the top center of the next photo) featured the Cobra for a short time

This car was delivered new to world famous sixties socialite Tara Browne, or the Honourable Tara Browne as he was more formally known, an heir to the vast Guinness brewery fortune.
