must be a good reason they blasted out that train track lower than the area around it... maybe just for solid rock footing instead of loose shale? I think I found this on http://rollerman1.tumblr.com/

    1. Oh! Right! Keeping the grade as level as possible would be the reason.... heavy loads wouldn't get up even slight hills very well. Thanks John! I missed the obvious
