Coby Gewertz is a unique artist, he celebrates the cars, not the culture.. and his Church magazines and prints are simple and outstanding

these rims are 33rpm albums with the paint on top... that is damn cool.

last, this was the first piece of work I saw of Coby's, and still my favorite

if you look at one of the above mini magazines that Coby has made and printed (totally independant operation) you'll buy a copy of all the rest. I did. They are effing cool

the only vehicle I know that has been on the front and back covers of a magazine.

"Van Go" the most talked about van in years, and Coby, the publisher and photographer of one of the few awesome independant magazines

It's a 2 year project, and this year was it's debut. Not just the coolest van we'll see for years to come, it's also a travelling office so Coby can display and sell hie magazines and t-shirts at car shows
None of the woodwork inside has any right angles. It's very smooth and pleasant to contemplate it's looks and use

I've got 3 or 4 of these, and they are worth the money, just terrific photography. The one on the lower right is made up of photos taken at Fremont dragstrip between 1960-1964 by his dad, and stuffed away in a showbox in his dad's garage for 40+ years. That is family treasure.

Coby was given the front AND back of the newest issue of Rod and Kulture. effing awesome! Run out and buy a copy quick, you'll love it, and the photos throughout the magazine are far better than anything I've taken, quite a few are professional photos taken in studios. Perfect work. Enjoy!

Goodguys 2023 Hot Rod of the Year title went to Coby Gewertz and his wild ’34 Ford Coupe.

The Saint Christopher Coupe as Gewertz calls it, started life as a body shell he acquired from Mike Wolfe of the television show American Pickers.

The build was performed over several years by South City Rod & Custom in Hayward, California, and features a long list of traditional hot rod custom touches such as the chopped top, rows of louvers across the roof and deck lid, vintage magnesium wheels and of course, a souped up 331 cubic-inch vintage Hemi engine.  The wild paint work is by Compani Color

Marc Gewertz, photographer

at the dragstrip for about 3 decades now, he snapped this photo of twin fireballs at the '92 Mile High Nats, and now is the lead photographer for National Dragster.

His brother is Coby Gewertz, photographer and Church magazine maker... I point this out, as the last name must sound familiar, but the first name might be confusing

Growing up near Fremont Drag Strip where his father both worked and raced through the ’60s to 80s, Marc Gewertz was exposed to hot rodding at an early age.

During junior high, he began taking his Nikon camera to the dragstrip to capture the action and the people behind all those fast cars. With a penchant for being in the right place at the right time, he quickly developed a reputation as being one of racing’s rising young photographic talents.

you will frequently see his photography in Traditional Rod and Kulture, Hot Rod Deluxe, Goodguys Gazette and other rod and custom magazines
