Someone is drumming up business for the tire repair shops in Macon County North Carolina by scattering caltrops on the roads.

I can't explain why the police will not state what road these were discovered on.

Not the first, or the last time that someone made tires go flat to drum up business for tire repair shops nearby, I've posted about it before. It's a scam that works, and is rarely tracked back by the cops to the person who did it. 

Since these only put holes in the tread area, it's a simple plug job to repair, probably about 75 dollars per customer
