Jonathan Dawes and his co-driver Cory Day drove 7 Miles in reverse after the transmission broke, in the Best In The Desert’s Laughlin Desert Classic finishing the race 10th in class out of 17 cars despite topping out around 25 mph in reverse.

Note the finish line flag, is behind him, and he's driving in reverse to it.

there is nothing about this anywhere else online, not even on the Dawes team's Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/DirtWeaponOffRoad/

I celebrate the MOXIE and guts of anyone who does some cool shit like this, 7 miles in reverse, full speed, to achieve the goal, in a race through the desert

    1. and I had the link to the Drive story under the story in my post... but they had a small photo, that didn't show the situation, and they didn't include the link to the full size video. Where as I, on the other hand, believe in treating my readers RIGHT, and not teasing a story, but delivering a photo, and a link to a video, that SHOWS the reader the scenario, for full reader satisfaction

    2. correction, they have a regular size photo.... and it shows the racer next to the finish line flag. That is not an indication of reversing to the finish line. That indicates crossing the finish line. Only when approaching the finish line will the flag get waved, so the only way to show they are reversing to it is to show when the racer was a distance from it, approaching it, and the flag getting waved. But more importantly, including a link to the video... that's the right way to satisfy the reader, who has read something cool, and expects that you as the media source, will provide a visual of that situation.
