I was hanging out with Mike, sitting in one spot, for 4 hours, and that was a lot of movement on my wallet, and it fell out of my pocket, and I didn't know that when I left the burger joint we were hanging out in.
I left, went to my garage, puttered for 30 minutes, then headed over to the pizza place for a couple slices.
I get across the street, and reach down to pat my wallet... and HOLY SHIT, NO WALLET.
My mind races, I slightly freak out, and think that I've only got 2 options, check that I put my wallet in my pocket when I left my place, and if it's not home.... I lost it for real, and it must have fallen out of my pocket at the restaurant, an hour ago, but by the time I get home, and check, it's going to be 90 minutes, AND it's 25 minutes BACK to the restaurant who DOES NOT PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE when I call to ask if my wallet is there in lost and found.
So, 2 hours after I left the burger joint, I get back... having been freaking out for an hour about what a rough time I'll have replacing my drivers license, stopping my credit card, replacing my ATM card, and getting my VA id replaced... and loss of the 200 I just pulled out of the ATM
So I get back to the burger joint, and look under the booth where I was sitting...and there's my wallet, because no one looked under the booth since we left, and it's dark, and I was in the far corner.
DAMN.
That was a close one! I suddenly realize that it's a damn good thing I have 60 in cash in my car, as an emergency stash. It turns out, if you lose your wallet, you better have enough cash on hand to fill your gas tank, because it's not a fast process to get cash with no ID.
So, if you don't have 60 bucks, or better yet, a hundred, hidden in your vehicle, I recommend you give it a thought
I'm glad you found it. What a pain in the ass that could have been.
