Here's a moment in history defined by the lack of a couple inventions that were soon to make this job super easy


Refueling a Ford Tri-Motor airplane in 1936. 

Because this gasoline truck hose did not have a pump, this airplane waa refueled by filling 5-gallon cans and then lifting the cans up to the fuel tank. 

The fuel was then siphoned through a chamois cloth to remove impurities.
