First time I've ever seen a video of what problems a snowstorm causes for the 1st train to head down the line after the weather clears up

  1. I've never seen a video of this either. Amazing how they plow right through all of those fallen branches and trees.

  2. I've done this myself. And usually it's not after the weather clears but during the worst of the storm. The trick is to hit the fallen trees hard enough to bust and bounce them clear, you don't want them rolling under the locomotive or train where they can cause damage that's not just cosmetic. Most damage is just minor like headlights and handrails. I worked for the same railroad as these guys (CN) and weather like this was not unusual.

    1. Well, I'll be... I bet you've got some stories to tell about running a train! I've only seen them from the news etc etc when stupid people cause trains to have collsions, but you... might have seen some stuff from the other side!
Do you have any stories to share?
