Robert Phillips bought the unwanted 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II by Scaglietti in 1960 for the princely sum of $2,225, from a Rambler dealership!

It was sent originally to Venezuela, then to the U.S. where it was competitive on its debut at Sebring. By 1959, it had been relocated to a Rambler dealership, with a seized differential!

As always, Petrolicious rocks!

Expected value is about 6 million.

RP left a note in the comments section, and let me know he was at Laguna Seca the day after the Petrolicious video, here is a sample of the photo gallery

    1. Thanks! Petrolicious did a beautiful job with the video, the imagery was superb. Compliments to you on your life with your Ferrari, and your Navy career. I went subs, crewed on two, and miss the guys in the Navy, most civilians just aren't quite as full of life and personality as people that you crew with in the military. Thanks for the note and the link! That watermark is quite a large and ugly way to mar the beauty of the car, and the grace is shows on the track. But that is a sweet set of thumbnails, it must have been a great day, as any day at the track is better than any day at the office

  3. Dear Jesse,

Appreciate your Navy service and I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment regarding our shipmates. When you are bored and nothing else to do there are hundreds of entries about the car at: http://tinyurl.com/juyhoms
