You might want to use the proper names of the railroads. The unit closest to the camera is a Southern Pacific EMD E-9, in the middle it's a Union Pacific EMD E-9, then the last unit is a Santa Fe EMD F-7A.
While there was a Union Railroad, and a Southern Railroad, they were seperate and unrelated companies.
Nope, I don't. I did it the right way, for me, and for my readers, because I am not interested in being informative about the railroad companies, or the models of the trains. I'm not a train fanatic, I'm just appreciative of the overall design look to these, and that this photographer captured them all in one place at the same time. Most of the time I post photos because they look cool, and not to be educational. I leave that to bloggers who know stuff.
Hello over a decade later, just letting you know that it's not about being informative it's about spreading misinformation, because the Union (blue colour scheme) and Southern (green) Railroads are completely different companies to the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads. You're actively calling a Ford a Dodge here. You don't need to know the locomotives but if you're putting in the railroad names then put in the actual railroad names. Pretty poor author etiquette.
you are being hostile and pedantic. I am sharing cool stuff, and not being an asshole. I repeat what you should already have read above "I did it the right way, for me, and for my readers, because I am not interested in being informative about the railroad companies, or the models of the trains. " Everyone looking at the image can read the words on the side or front of the engines, and they do not need me to elaborate on the full rail road name for any of them. So, take your hostility somewhere else, it's not wanted here. "spreading misinformation" huh? You have issues to deal with.... obviously I did no such thing as calling a Ford anything, no metaphor was needed, nor was your unwise criticism As for author etiquette, who the fuck do you think you're talking to? The editor of the New York Times? Shakespeare? Maya Angelou? I AM just a car guy, dumbass! I am not trying to be some starch shirted stiff backed author for the east coast patricians!
