Yes, you certainly would have no trouble if asked to describe the person who needs an emotional support horse.
As always, it's a middle aged, unmarried, white woman with a double chin. Yes, those are some mighty wonderful people in general, I've been friends with several... but we all know that when it comes to crazy and in desperate need of "emotional support" you're never going to find that it's an athlete, a miner, a lumberjack, a min wage dishwasher in the back of a greasy spoon, it's never a mechanic, an IT professional who spends all day writing code, or an airline pilot.
Emotional support animals are needed by people who suffer from mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
So far, in the recent 5 years, people have tried to board airlines with pigs, peacocks, turkeys, ducks, and a kangaroo.

Is this one of those things, Only in US?
ReplyDeleteProbably. Lawyers and ridiculous people get along great here, and make a lot of stupid things happen. Nothing useful of course
DeleteWait... so if someone would want to take a full size cow in to plane and Airlines would denied him, he could sue the company and he would win because that cow was an "emotional support animal"? Or this apply only to small animals... not like a damn pony is small, smaller than human maybe?
DeleteIf I hear of this ever happening in Europe, I'll let you know.
