There is some strange dirt out there... it's called liquefication.



I'm curious, how far will a heavy piece of construction equipment like a dozer or excavator, sink into that?

    The equipment doesn't sink because water in the soil can't be compressed, and the grains on sand/dirt have enough friction to keep it from squirting out the side.
    A thin wheel with all that weight might be in trouble.
