February 16, 1957 Daytona. Bob Welborn "King of the convertibles," #49. Welborn won the convertible series championship three times. The convertibles weren't as fast as the hard top stock cars but sometimes ran with them anyway to fill up the field. This most likely started out as a 150, and the team cut the top off. I think back then n the 70's Revell made a kit of Welborn's car..
That Chevy has 6 loug wheels and bigger bearings. I think they were called the Black Widow.
