Alabama didn't even issue vehicle titles until '75 or '76

 who knew?

But then, Alabama was never at the front of the line to accept quaint ideas until decades after the rest of the nation was fully day to day comfortable with things like civil rights, public school desegregation, and against draconian convict lease contracts, chain gangs, illegal vibrators etc etc. (who would ever guess the topic of sex toys would ever be posted here?)

  1. I was Stationed at Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville, Alabama in 1965-66. I took a T-bucket style homemade body roadster built in Tennessee with no title but Tennessee tags on it and drove it to the Arsenal. Went down to the state tag department and they ask what make was it. Said homemade with no title. Gave me the tags and registered it as a Self Assembled vehicle. Charged me $5.00. No better days then those for sure!
