A special thanks to the people who tip!

It's a really unprecedented odd time this month, and being unemployed is new to me.

Being unemployed when suddenly hundreds of thousands, probably millions nationally, means there isn't much point to looking for a temp job

Suddenly, and the first time since the 2008 recession there are an enormous number of unemployed, nut for the first time since the 1929 great depression, there are no jobs, and there are unpteen million unemployed

Now it's clear to me that the additional factor is that many local and state governments have ordered us to stay home...

add that all up, and it looks like there's no point in even trying to get a temp job. A waste of time to try, just spending all day looking, and sending out apps, to not be "allowed" to go to work if you could find a job that was hiring, that selected you among all the people applying.

So, you might disagree, but it seems to me that there isn't much choice but to sit this one out, and hope it's over before bills exceed limited ability to pay them.

That, and blog lots of good stuff to keep you readers amused and entertained, and to thank the people that kept my stress minimized with their generosity the last couple of days

I'm not the smartest guy around, and I don't always figure out the best way to do stuff

But I figure that it might be just as smart to thank everyone equally, because though some can afford more, and some may donate their last 5 bucks, and go without a meal, it's impossible for me to know. Some might donate a hundred, and that could be all the spare cash they have and they might go without a meal. There's no telling, so, since I can't figure any better way to say thank you to all of you in any way that accurately shows how much you've donated, or how much generosity you have in donating what might mean so much more regardless of denomination but in terms of how much you had and how much you gave, I can only say thank you in terms of how much it means to me, a goofball with no savings that just got laid off because businesses are shutting down in response to a flu.

So, thank you each and every one, for giving me more hope that I can ramen noodle the hell out of this lay off, and make it through to getting back on the job, with just one dollar more than the rent, food, utilities, and gas to get groceries.

It's a stress reliever, mostly, that your tips have added up to where I'm not freaking out about what will be weeks off, and maybe months off, without a normal full size paycheck. I haven't been on unemployment in twenty years or so, back before the internet, when walking into the local unemployment office ways the way to fill out the form, with some one there that could tell you things were filled in right, and you'd get an unemployment check. Now, it's fill out a form online and no clue if things are going to get processed right, and not know when, or how, they're going to send an unemployment check, or how much that will be.

This would have been the right time and reason to overhaul the unemployment check process, and instead of 1/2 your regular pay, or less, the unemployment ought to be your regular paycheck amount.

After all, we'll live to work for 50 years or so, and pay into unemployment all those decades, and yet draw a minuscule amount from that account, ever. This would be the right time to pay out what people normally get paid, and ignore all the congressional rescue nonsense that bails out millionaires, and ignores people living paycheck to paycheck.

It won't break the govt's budget, as they are only holding what we paid in, right? Like income tax returns? Yeah, I'm not that stupid to believe the govt hasn't already spent it all, every penny that was ever paid in, and then borrowed 20 trillion more to put the country in the red, deep in the red. But, they bail out Wall Steet (Goldman Sachs https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikecollins/2015/07/14/the-big-bank-bailout/#74dfa3442d83 )

Anyway, this is a thank you, not a post on the govt keeping billionaires afloat and not sending anyone to jail for causing the 2008 great recession. But if you never got the inside scoop on that, there's the link, and if you're not familiar with Matt Tiabbli's articles, keep an eye out for them, he's a research investigative reporter from the Ed Murrow school of impeccable reporting. He also wrote an article in Sports Illustrated and Mens Journal, and Rolling Stone magazines. Great articles to read and enjoy.
