the forgotten history of the miserable 70s, car bombs and the mafia. The only good stuff in the 70s was music and Kung Fu movies as far as I'm concerned.

On October 6, 1977,  mobster Danny Greene was killed in a car bomb outside his dentist office. Cleveland became known as Bomb City, USA, because of the mafia war that led to more than 30 bombings across the city.

  1. There was more to the 70s: It was the decade after the pill and before AIDS. But then one had to come of age right then to fully appreciate it.

    1. sure, there was more, but nothing really stands out as being high quality except some music. Cars were certainly at a low, after 1971, movies? Well, there were fewer good movies in any year than any two months of this or last year. Tv shows? Nope, not much, and certainly tv was better in the 60s, and 80s. Clothes? Nope. Furniture? Nope. Fashion? Nope. Trucking culture was better off in the 70s than the 60s... Art? I don't think art got any better in the 70s. Books? Maybe, a lot more authors were coming on in the 70s. Of course, that's probably true of every decade. Magazines got better in general. Again, that's probably true of every decade. Toys got better. Comic Books? No, I think they peaked in the 60s, and then came back on in the 80s and 90s. Boats? Nope. Outboards and lawn mowers, and atvs, were certainly better. Kung Fu movies were a high point.

And the best toycars were made back then. For example:

And those were made of metal, not plastic.
