any cop that tells you there are no ticket quotas is either honest, or lying. Tennessee District Attorney General found that the town of Ridgetop had instituted a ticket quota.

When the city council learned they were busted, they had to stop the tickets, which then meant they had no income, so they shut down the police dept... or they closed the police dept to avoid the investigation.

    And there's all sorts of strange rules. A co-worker lost his certification to drive an ambulance (and so his job) because he was cited for driving 80mph in a 70mph stretch of interstate in VA. In most states it would be a fine for 10mph over the limit but in this case if you're driving 80mph or faster its a reckless driving charge.
