Wompin Wagon (I love that name, it makes me grin) Nomad dragster

The "Grease Monkey" pulling down the palm tree is a great piece of racing art, and "heavy" must refer to the weight of the Nomad

  1. This car was owned by Lyde Wagers, his mechanic was "Heavy" Brooks, who weighed in at 135 lbs.hence the name Heavy the Grease Monkey. Saw it race many times at Ohio Valley Dragway in West Point Ky. The Good old days. Modified Production and 55 Chevy's. There were a ton of them competing aganist one another every Saturday night, and I would venture to say Lyde won most of them.
