Here in BC the d8 was a machine used a lot in pioneering logging roads, they all had sweeps (the struts coming off both sides of the top of the rad extending back to the top of the cab) installed to "sweep" tree branches over the machine to protect the operator. On this machine someone has added extra protection for the operator probably from rain or snow.
