Take away the leather padding and those seats look like what we used to cal "boat chairs." They would sit on the seats in wooden rowboats - called St Lawrence Skiffs. When I was a kid in the early 50's my family had a cottage on the St Lawrence near Alexandria Bay, NY. We had a large skiff and two or three of those wicker seats - basically chairs with no legs.
Seats are beauties. I like them.
