Never seen that before!
HA! I wonder if that will finally lay to rest the controversy about it being a reproduction. There were a lot of people who said it was not an original car, and thought it was a scam. That is why it has been banned from competition. Great find!
Certain I saw this car in High Point,NC somewhere between 1959 and 1961. I was 12-14 yrs. old at the time. A man and his wife were showing it in a large trailer for a small fee. BUT they billed as specially built for Duke of Windsor. ?? Had Polar Bear fur for rear seat upholstery. Was 21 feet long. Had pics of the Duke with this car on display. Find no or very little reference to the Duke and this car on 'Net. I wonder???
I've never heard of those items in it's history
Hype Mr. Bowers, just sensationalism delivered by the owners at that time.
No... I'm Jesse. My dad is Mr Bowers... maybe. I may have a beard and white hair, but I'm never going to be "Mr" til I'm old enough to need a wheelchair. Thanks for filling in the early years of this Rolls's car show exploits regardless. Polar Bear fur, wow, that's a good one! Did you see the 50 Ford with "genuine imported Brazilian female orangutan underarm hair carpets"? http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/05/genuine-imported-brazilian-female.html
