Matt Webb is riding a 1984 Honda Big Red 200, legendary for its reliability, across Canada—in the winter, with a goal to complete the journey in three weeks, and Guinness world record attempt . 1300 miles covered so far

Matthew Webb is a fishing vessel deckhand and a veteran with the Canadian military. His goal is to cross Canada in the winter on his three-wheeler to raise money for the Bikers Down Society, not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance to motorcycle riders injured in collisions, in memory of his friend, Anthony Morgan who died in a biking head-on crash in 2021, who shared a love of three-wheelers. “They’re outlawed, they’re dangerous, they’re reliable, they’re simple to work on and they’ll get you home,” said Webb. “They’re also a lot of fun.”

As he processed his grief, Webb settled on this cross-country quest primarily night riding to avoid traffic when he’s travelling along roadsides.

He began by travelling to 100 Mile House, B.C., to meet Morgan’s chosen family and share memories and photos and all that they miss of him.

With their extensive gravel work roads, trail systems and ATV riders lining up to guide him, he figures Alberta and the rest of the Prairie provinces ought to be fairly navigable.

Where the trails end but the snow is blown hard enough, he has a snowmobile track that he has stitched together into rings the diameter of his tires that allow him to travel cross country.

When the piston rings arrive he’ll change them in the parking lot, a task any mechanic would not envy, if only for the cold sapping the strength from aching fingers working on frozen steel.

“I’ll go along till that blows, then do a top-end job on it,” said Webb.

“It will probably be done outside, unless someone lets me use their garage. I’m prepared to do everything on the trail.”

Most of his modifications have more to do with cargo capacity, which includes a spare tire carrier over the front fender. Webb is also hauling a trailer loaded with tools and parts

75% of all funds raised in the Go Fund Me will be given to the Bikers Down Society in memory of Anthony Morgan. The rest of the funds will go to the ride support team and trip expenses across Canada

  1. Did you notice the Harley snowmobile (with a nitrous tank) in the background? It looks like it's on an Astro van that's been converted into a hauler. It took some googling, but I found a video. At the start of the video, there's a giant red wagon in the background, too.
