  1. Lots of companies fleeing high tax high crime high regulation states.
I dont blame them. Every new car manufacturing plant built in the last 25 years has been in the south. Ford closed their plant in Atlanta Georgia and moved it to south america, GM closed their plant in Atlanta.
Kia built a factory in Georgia, Huyndia built one in Alabama, BMW built one in South Carolina , Volkswagen built one in Tennessee , Rivian announced they are building their $5 Billion factory in Georgia, Hyundia is building an $8 Billion factory in Georgia , Catapillar built a factory in Georgia, Kubota built a factory in Georgia ,Mercedes built a factory in Alabama.

    see the trend here?

    1. yup, you nailed it. There's no damn point to building cars in Michigan, hasn't been since WW2. Having all the Atlantic coast posts to choose from, why the hell would anyone choose to limit themselves to the few potential employees in Detroit, and all the shipping problems from either coast?
I've posted on many of those new factories, the BMW and Nissan come to mind.
