Oh Geez...A Glasspar G-3...I saved my paper route $$ and bought one from a dealer.
ReplyDeleteI was only 13 or so..My dad..(we never got along)..made them take it back since I was under age..He kept my paper route $$....
Later after the Army I bought another one with a 6 cylinder 70 hp Merc..
My brother and I flew around Lake Washington..
Oh the memories..I think thanks...
OMG.. you bought one as a teen? With paper route money? Holy shit, there, right there is an example of how inflation has screwed up america... once upon a time a teen could AFFORD a boat! You're welcome... I think. (right back at you) then my job here is done!
DeleteGreat pics - I'm a big fan of old outboards, the European ones sadly don't compare to your US ones for style though.

PS love the Catalina head picture
true, the Brits and other European manufactures were better at engineering than the Americans, but they didn't work as hard on looks, design appeal, and aesthetics. A tradition brought on from the works of Harley Earl I suppose.
