My grandparents lived in Zanesville, so I've been on this bridge a few times. The only place I know where you give directions by telling someone to go to the middle of the bridge and turn left or right.
There are also a couple of S bridges along the old National Road near Zanesville. I think they were made like this to go straight across a creek or river.
