This photo is titled 'Corbusier 1931'. The car is a 1927 Avions Voisin C11 Saloon. The building is Le Corbusier designed Villa Savoye, which is radiused to a turning circle of a car which however was not a Voisin but 1927 Citroen.
the work of the famous architect Charles Edouard Jeanneret-Gris, known since 1920 as "Le Corbusier" who incidentally also had a passion for cars of its time.
from Dr. Christopher Wilson, Architecture and Design Historian, writing about early Modernist architects taking photographs of buildings with automobiles in front of them.

Hello, you wrote: "The building is 31 Pavillion Suisse, Paris Uni". But in fact this is the "Le Corbusier designed Villa Savoye, 1928 to 1931 in Poissy (in Paris area). The "Pavillion Suisse, at the Cité International of Paris is another Le Corbusier building.
ReplyDeleteBst regards, Thierry Auffret (www.automobiles-voisin.fr)
thank you! I had both buildings in an early draft of what was to be posted, and when deleting, editting, and adding more information, I missed deleting the words "1931 Pavillion Suisse, Paris Uni". Much appreciated !
