there was a "punch key" pattern you entered and you turned on an internal amp, and boosted your radio performance

  1. Your title is internet BS. The amplifier was always turned on. That amplifier going dead was probably the most common reason for people replacing the factory radio. It resided directly below the radio, just to the right, bolted to a dash support. I owned/ran a car stereo shop from 1985-1998 and probably pulled thousands of them out. Metra made the best fitting dash kit to put an aftermarket head unit in place of that radio head, and an optional add on replaced the casssette deck (just barely visible, lower right in this photo) with a pocket that you could stash cassettes or CDs in.

    1. See this? https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=915539617411388&set=a.555860870045933 it's called a link. I add them to the bottom of the posts so I can tell people where to fucking complain when they disagree with what I've shared. Also known as the source. Take it up with them... I never heard of this before, and you didn't have the common decency to share cool info with me, instead, you shit on something I happened to find and share.
Next time? Beat me to posting about something interesting and save yourself the effort of being a naysayer. It must be VERY tiresome to be a know it all
