Hooper Bentley Empress II.... defining depreciation
Advertised for £350,000.00 in 1991. In todays money, according to http://www.measuringworth.com/ukcompare/result.php?use%5B%5D=CPI&use%5B%5D=DEFIND&use%5B%5D=WAGE&use%5B%5D=GDPCP&use%5B%5D=GDPC&year_late=1991&typeamount=350000&amount=350000&year_source=1991&year_result=2006 was worth £771,303.41 in 2006 ... about what they were asking for a Bugatti Veyron. Yeah, the million US dollar car. So why is it remarkable that it cost equivalent to a Veyron? I just found one up to sell at $85 thousand. 1/10th the original asking price.
Sunday morning Breakfast car show will be in new awesome location!
Next meet is this Sunday. On Shelter Island in the Bali Hai parking lot. http://www.balihairestaurant.com/location.htm

Cement truck invitational
258 trucks to deliver 11,500 yards of concrete in one monolithic pour that got started at five in the morning and finished by three in the afternoon.
Roughly that’s 258 trucks in 10 hours. 26 trucks per hour. Or if you like, 1 truck every 2 minutes 20 seconds.
The project is the San Diego, BAYSIDE condos ($795,000 to $12,000,000.each condo, 282 total.)
The photo shows the southern half (half!) of the ten-foot-thick RAFT slab, which will support the 35 story tower
