I might be easily amused, but I get a lot of enjoyment from Calvin and Hobbes (posted for the punchline in the last panel)

I took an hour today to enjoy the weekend with Calvin and Hobbes for about 40 pages

Created for the exhibition and portfolio of the 50th anniversary of the Angouleme Festival. 

I have often taken advantage of the slightest opportunity to honor my comic book idols, heroes as authors, in images where I take a clever pleasure in recreating them. 

It was as delightful as opportune for the occasion to gather many, connected for me somehow to Angouleme and its festival so international, to evoke, even vaguely, the relief of this city, perched like the one where I grew up on a rock, and to pay homage supported to two greats of the drawing, two friends too, recently and far too soon gone: Tim Sale and Kim JungGi.

Employees at Tampa International Airport took photos with a stuffed animal that was accidentally left behind and later presented the owner of the toy, a six-year-old boy named Owen, with a book of the photos that depicted his adventures.

A Hobbes went on a “great adventure” at Tampa International Airport in Florida after being accidentally left behind by his young owner in 2015

Owen Lake, 6, traveled to Houston with his parents, and was “distraught” after realizing he lost Hobbes.

Owen and Hobbes were reunited when Owen flew back to Tampa, where staff surprised the boy with a photo book of his favorite tiger’s vivid adventures at the airport while away from his owner.

Bill Watterson was extremely gifted in art, and humor, and the ability to make one little kid often laugh out loud funny, but his perceptive way of writing was very overlooked, I feel.

I admire Watterson so much for sharing Calvin and Hobbes with us... the art, the humor, and the incredible imagination.
