Only 100 of the 330 GTS was built from 1966-1968. On a rainy day, driving on Sunset Boulevard and approaching Beverly Hills from Brentwood (around 1969 or 1970), Garner slid on the rain-soaked road and crashed the Ferrari beyond repair. Garner was uninjured.
