they cater to their audience, and only old people are watching NBC, ABC, CBS, and PBS. Young people watch streaming, or you tube, or tik tok, or instagram. So, NBC went with what old people do, pickleball. Back when tv was new, in the 60s, they broadcast the things that their audience wanted, and their audience was young. So they got Wide World of Sports, Evel Knievel, drag racing, etc. Just my opinion, but it seems to make sense to me
