So, I looked into what that is about, and found, that Patrick Stewart, Mandy Patinkin, Morena Baccarin, Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep, Rami Malek and others are already onboard endorsing this charity. Very cool
I couldn't find a copy of the commercial I saw about the all women medical team though, but I did learn about Dr Najia, https://www.rescue.org/article/all-female-mobile-health-team-working-against-odds-afghanistan and I found this:
One of the recent geological events was the earthquake in Afghanistan on June 22nd that killed 1,000 people. When the quake struck, the IRC responded by deploying mobile health units to affected villages.
Afghanistan has worse problems, there are about 25 million people living in the fucking desert, without a food supply. Why? I have no damn idea, it's Ethiopia in the 80s, all over again.
I think it's great that multimillionaire movie stars are endorsing, and hopefully funding, this organization, but damn it, if the countries with the worst problems were actively trying to solve the problems IN THEIR COUNTRY, that would be far more effective.
Religious militant zealots of the muslim type seem to run the countries with the worst problems, and seem to be only interested in military domination of the penniless refugees, instead of training useful people and professions like medics, doctors, farmers, etc.
Keegan Key donated the Luther the Anger Translator services for a consultation service.. love him! Just keep him off caffeine!
