Jess Nicks, the father of Stevie Nicks, was a WW2 CWO, and president of Greyhound Bus Lines

Jess attended Peoria Elementary, and graduated from Glendale High School in 1943. Jess joined the Navy in 1943, serving his country as a Chief Warrant Officer for a tour of duty. After the service, he attended ASU in 1946-1947. Jess met his wife, Barbara in July, 1947, and they were married a month later.

Jess began his career as a distributor with Lucky Lager. He became the President of Armour-Dial and Executive Vice-President of Greyhound, and was responsible for moving the headquarters of both corporations to Phoenix.

He eventually would become president of the Lucky Lager Brewing Co. of San Francisco, chairman and president of Armour & Co. as well as executive vice president of the Greyhound Corp.

As a young woman, Stevie Nicks carried a bus pass that took her to any Greyhound destination for free

Armour was a meat packing company in Chicago that made soap as a byproduct of the fat from cows, and Dial was the first deoderant soap, and EXTREMELY popular, so much that they renamed the company Armour-Dial.
