a section of the abandoned Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, is now (in 1958) backyards and kids used the macadam of the road to create a basketball court.

Oct. 15, 1958.  This section of the road was south of Tranverse Road, between Pell Terrace and Russell Roads in Garden City.
