1st time I've seen railroad ties used in a bookshelf... I've seen cinder blocks though, they're ubiquitous with college dorm book shelves

yup, they even added a parking meter to the plethora of props they used to decorate the set of the main characters apartment

This caused me to wonder about about the term cinder blocks, so, https://capitalmasonry.net/blog/where-does-cinder-block-come-from

  1. The timbers appear to be smaller than railway ties, but they do seem to have been treated with Creosote.
How anyone could stand its powerful odor, especially in an indoor area is beyond me.
Of greater concern is the effect it would have on your lungs!
There is some evidence that it causes skin cancer in humans and it has been shown to cause skin cancer in animals.

  3. My thoughts are with "Cacophony." However, that parking meter looks like a money maker. "Sure, throw a dime in the parking meter for fun." says the apartment dweller. It's one way to accrue ice cream money! Or help pay his medical bills for inhaling that creosote!
