the Southern Pacific’s first locomotive, shipped around Cape Horn arriving in San Francisco. It is named the C. P. Huntington, a vice president of the railroad company, on static display at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento




What it looked like 100 years ago, and some context photos to show how small it is




it seems that in the early 1960s someone went into business making trains that look like this one, and called their business Chance Rides, and made about 390 of these small locomotive engines for theme parks, amusement parks, zoos, etc and there is a facebook page about them

There is one in Irvine Ca, for example https://www.irvineparkrailroad.com/rides-attractions/

they had small Ford 4 cylinder engines, an FMX automatic transmission, etc
