A friend (working in home construction) told me a story once of a roofing crew that had one car with a dead battery at the end of the day, and having no jumper cables, simply removed a battery from another car and flipped it upside down to connect it post-to-post with the dead battery and start the car. He said it was done so quickly and efficiently that it was obviously not the first time.
