Don't get upset, that Tesla made a profit from selling electric car credits to other manufactures, I don't recall hearing any one at Tesla make a speech about getting rich from selling cars. No, instead, they realized they would be one of the few companies to sell electric cars, and sell regulatory credits, for instant profit

 Tesla posted its first full year of net income in 2020 -- but not because of sales to its customers.

Eleven states require automakers sell a certain percentage of zero-emissions vehicles by 2025. 

If they can't, the automakers have to buy regulatory credits from another automaker that meets those requirements -- such as Tesla, which exclusively sells electric cars.

It's a lucrative business for Tesla -- bringing in $3.3 billion over the course of the last five years, nearly half of that in 2020 alone. The $1.6 billion in regulatory credits it received last year far outweighed Tesla's net income of $721 million -- meaning Tesla would have otherwise posted a net loss in 2020.

IF that's upsetting, maybe it's not that they are in business to make a profit, that upsets the news media, but that they are making a profit from being smart enough to make a rare thing other car manufactures can't.... electric car regulatory credits.

in other Tesla news, Nancy Pelosi told her huisband to buy 1.25 million dollars of Tesla stock, as she was aware that Biden was going all electric cars in some executive order... so, though she's not guilty of insider trading to a legal requirement that would convict her, she (and all other rich politicians, lets face facts) uses the info she learns in office to get richer than the annual income from the govt for being a senator. That's why they refuse to give up on getting re-elected, is my take on those that spend over 8 years in office... all the millions and millions they earn from just being in the right place to learn how to get REALLY rich
