with 145 banners this past month, and me wanting to post the best ones, I change them when I get going in the morning, and when the sun goes down. That's only good for posting 60, that's less than half as many as I made. So, they come and go fast... but a lot of people tell me that they check the site twice or 3 times a day. So, many of them won't be seen by anyone until the end of the month. That's why I sometimes post them daily, or weekly too
Lots of really good pics Jesse, as I mentioned before you have a great eye for banners. So many I could comment on. Is that "Ain't* B" sitting behind the '57 Ford wagon? And how about that crazy drawing of a concept car? Looks like an Exner concept. The Sebring photos, the unusual Meyers Manx, looks like a custom job from the Meyers fabrication. Love the TR 4. Always wanted to own one. What happened to the last day of September's banner? The sports car racing through the rain going side ways? I wanted to save that to my photos.
that was from years ago, I came across it when looking for something else, and decided it was so damn cool it needed a repeat. It is better than the majority of anything I have to post as a banner currently! Send me your email (jbohjkl@yahoo.com) and I'll email it to you. It's in the "best of" banners of course, somewhere in the archived best banners.... but damned if I know where
better yet, I added it to the top of this post. I hadn't included it before, because I've posted it before. But hell, I'm not against doing whatever I can to be helpful. It's not like there are any rules about doing whatever I want to
So, gas right now is somewhere around the same price as in 1952 or 53, corrected for inflation. Even less here in Brooklyn today: $2.159 a gallon. No lead included.
Interesting random bunch of photos! In case anyone is wondering why old photos of moving cars have that speedy leaning forward look it's because of using a focal pane shutter, which is an opaque strip with a horizontal slot opening that does the exposure by running the strip (and slot) down from top to bottom at the speed chosen.
yes, it's nice that the price of gas dropped a dime this week! These aren't random, they are left upper corner area blank for use as the banner. Also, I don't choose photos at random to use as banners. They have not only the right composition of a blank upper area I need to have the blog name superimposed, but they also have a cool vehicle, bridge, or airplane that is rare to find a photo of. Like you said, interesting! Good description of the tire tilt photo effect, but cell phones do it to, for another reason. See https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=lartigue
Oh, now I get it about the blank area for the title. But random as in not a tightly limited subject other then broadly car related, and how everything was sort of better then (except not really).
and if you look at the link I mentioned https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=lartigue my cell phone did the same thing. Cameras and tech canbe weird like that, but Lartique was known for that odd tilted tire photography, and it made his photos very cool
You change the banners so fast that even I, a semi-retiree, can't keep up. So thanks for the compilations.

I meant the slot on the focal plane goes from bottom to top, which is obvious if you think about it. Unless the car was actually going in reverse.
