Freightliner COE in Sept 1984, with a load of Chryslers and AMC's. Note four car "pup" trailer. Convoy used these in several states at that time. This is not experimental although permits may have been temporary.
My uncle John Youell was president of the Convoy Company and I really enjoyed the times I got to prowl their facilities in Portland when I was a kid. They had numerous shop-built custom trucks for car-hauling. In 1960/61 they even built a few (5 I think) Fireliner fire trucks on Freightliner chassis.
Hey, french touch on board ! ( Renault Alliance & Renault Encore ) :-)
ReplyDeleteThere are 4 Renaults on the hauler too.
