meanwhile, in the news... Hulk Hogan's successful multi million dollar lawsuit payoff bankrupted Gawker, who owned Jalopnik... so, Jalopnik is now going to be under new ownership

Jalopnik publisher Gawker Media Group announced it was declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of an effort to deal with a $140 million verdict levied against it in a lawsuit over Hulk Hogan's right to privacy.

Ziff Davis may be interested in purchasing Jalopnik, along with Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Kotaku, Deadspin, Jezebel, and Gawker.

Ziff Davis, the digital publisher of AskMen, PCMag and Computer Shopper, has placed a bid for Gawker's assets — with $100 million as the opening price — prior to an auction that will be supervised by the bankruptcy court

Patrick George, Ed in Chief at Jalopnik had little to say about the news, http://jalopnik.com/were-here-were-posting-cool-shit-about-cars-get-used-1781768483  other than Jalopnik will soldier on. Oh, and they have 8.7 million readers a month.

Maybe with a new owner Jalopnik will get back on track and drop the non-automotive news. Sure, an airport assault on the sidewalk out front is news, but why the hell is it featured on Jalopnik?

Hell, I guess I'm doing all right then, as I've got about 6.6 million a month between the direct traffic, and the Google Plus traffic to the simulcast content.

Ziff Davis looks like it could use a shot in the arm with interesting sites.
