Ziff Davis, the digital publisher of AskMen, PCMag and Computer Shopper, has placed a bid for Gawker's assets — with $100 million as the opening price — prior to an auction that will be supervised by the bankruptcy court
Patrick George, Ed in Chief at Jalopnik had little to say about the news, http://jalopnik.com/were-here-were-posting-cool-shit-about-cars-get-used-1781768483 other than Jalopnik will soldier on. Oh, and they have 8.7 million readers a month.
Maybe with a new owner Jalopnik will get back on track and drop the non-automotive news. Sure, an airport assault on the sidewalk out front is news, but why the hell is it featured on Jalopnik?
Hell, I guess I'm doing all right then, as I've got about 6.6 million a month between the direct traffic, and the Google Plus traffic to the simulcast content.
Ziff Davis looks like it could use a shot in the arm with interesting sites.
