Wheeling police responded to a burglary overnight Sunday into Monday where tens of thousands of dollars worth of toy trains were taken from the Toy & Train Museum on Kruger Street.
Officers met with the curator and were shown where a suspect or suspects had broken into the museum. Once inside, the suspect(s) broke into glass display cases and removed multiple toy trains and accessories from the museum.
The stolen toy trains and accessories are reported to be worth about $30,000.
Investigators were called to the scene in an attempted to recover any evidence. They say they are hopeful that the uniqueness of the items stolen may generate information that may be useful in recovering the items and the suspect(s).
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wheeling Police Department as 304-234-3781.
